How to be saved

The most important decision you or anyone can make is to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. It is your choice. No one can force you to believe.  Salvation is a gift.  You can receive or reject it.  You may think that because you’re a good person and have always tried to be the best you can be, and do what is right, that you will make it to heaven.     

It doesn't work that way.  You are made right with God by His grace through faith.  It is not because the good things you have done outweigh the bad.  Jesus loves you and desires to have a personal relationship with you.  He wants you to accept this gift of salvation because He loves you! It is not something to be earned … it is a gift. You may think you have messed up so badly that there is no way God will forgive you.  God receives us just the way we are and where we are, IF you will believe and receive.

God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 

Sin causes death, but because God sent His Son to die for your sins, you can have the gift of eternal life.

If  you are ready to accept the gift of eternal life through Jesus, and you  truly desire to ask Him into your heart to be your personal Lord and  Savior, then pray this prayer:

“Jesus,  I know that I am a sinner. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the grave so that I might have eternal life in heaven with You. I  willingly repent of my sins and ask You to come into my heart and life.  Take control of my words, thoughts, and actions. I place all of my trust in You for my salvation. I accept You as my Lord and Savior, and this free gift of eternal life. Amen.”  When you pray this prayer and believe it in your heart, you are saved - this is how you become a Christian.  You are at the start of an incredible adventure. So, what's next?
